About Me

Hi everyone!

I’m Daniel Loftus. I started my genealogy journey in January 2017 and my goodness, it has been fun. I started my blog in June 2019 after some encouragement from family members. I’ve uncovered so much about my ancestors that I’ve clearly been ‘bitten’ by the genealogy bug. 6 years later and I’m still going! I’m one of the co-founders of “The Hidden Branch”, a site where the next generation of genealogists can learn the tools of the trade to find their ancestors. In July 2022, I started Project Infant, a passion project to document the mothers and infants who died in mother and baby homes. In August 2022, I became a researcher at Genealogy.ie conducting work for clients. If that’s not enough for you, I’m also an aspiring professional speaker and writer. Make sure to keep up with me on my socials here.
