I’m Daniel Loftus. I started my genealogy journey in January 2017 and my goodness, it has been fun. I started my blog in June 2019 after some encouragement from family members. I’ve uncovered so much about my ancestors that I’ve clearly been ‘bitten’ by the genealogy bug. 6 years later and I’m still going! I’m one of the co-founders of “The Hidden Branch”, a site where the next generation of genealogists can learn the tools of the trade to find their ancestors. In July 2022, I started Project Infant, a passion project to document the mothers and infants who died in mother and baby homes. In August 2022, I became a researcher at Genealogy.ie conducting work for clients. If that’s not enough for you, I’m also an aspiring professional speaker and writer.
