Daniel's Genealogy

Now I thought to myself that my New Years Resolution would be to start Amy Johnson Crow’s challenge called #52Ancestors! This weeks prompt is “A Fresh Start” and that got me thinking about what picture I love and here it is! This is a picture (one of the few mind you) of my great-grandparents John Loftus & his wife Ellen (née Noone) they were married on the 15th March 1911 in Swinford, Co. Mayo. John was born on the 1st December 1876 & Ellen on the 16th August 1885.

I really do love the photo but I would love to discover when they had the photo done & why! (a special occasion, a wedding photo perhaps?) For me in a way it does raise a few questions about their stories. They went on to have 8 kids one of them being my grandfather & John passed away in 1957 & Ellen in 1963. Now to keep this up for the other 51 weeks! Stay tuned for more…
